What personal data we collect
When you send a booking request we collect: your name, email address, phone number, check-in and check-out dates, number of adults and children (and children’s ages), and any notes you add. If you pay online, the payment provider processes your card details; we never see or store full card numbers. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we keep that correspondence.
Why we use it
- To handle your booking request, confirm your stay and arrange check-in (necessary to perform our contract with you).
- To process payments and keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To keep the property safe, e.g. registering guests with building security where required (legitimate interest).
We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only where needed for your stay: our payment provider (bank transfer to FNB Namibia and, once available, a Namibian card-payment provider), our bank, building management or security (name and arrival details only), and authorities where the law requires it. This website is hosted on a server in the Netherlands.
How long we keep it
Booking requests that do not lead to a stay are deleted within 6 months. Records of completed stays and payments are kept for 5 years, as required by Namibian tax law, then deleted.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Only technically necessary cookies are used.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by contacting [email – enable JavaScript]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to booking data is restricted to the owners, and payment details are handled only by the payment provider.
